Piano
piano tub In New South Wales, Easter fell this year in the midlle of the school holidays. We drove off to Bendoc at 4am on Good Friday. The kids did not sleep in the car and were awake rather early the next day. Opa had bought an electric piano, which actually makes a decent sound on its own and even better with speakers. Opa played piano as a teenager, but did not enjoy it at that time. Piet and Emma both tried the piano numerous times during the weekend. Piet also demonstrated his trumpet skills, but Emma decided to skip her saxophone performance.

Juultje and Piet had fun outside. While dad gave opa a hand with cutting up some pine trees, mum and Lum took the kids on a bonehunt through the backpaddock. This time, some wombat bones were found - we took them back to Manly. Juliana really enjoys her bathtub in the laundry, like here elder siblings did. The highlight of the weekend was the egg hunt. Emma told mum she thought parents were hiding the eggs. When mum asked why she thought that, she told her that Piet said so. Piet in turn said that kids at school thought that.

Juliana is at an age where she get easily upset, but is unable to explain why. This happened during packing, so mum told her she was a big silly billy. Juultje, often being called "the little one", disagreed: she is a little silly billy.

cake

We arrived back in Manly on Tuesday night. Wednesday was dad's birthday, but due to the late arrival we postponed presents until the evening. Juultje went to daycare, Piet and Emma took mum to the local circus, and all three decorated the cake. On his return from work, dad opened his presents, had curry for dinner with cake as desert.
