Juultje started two days a week family day care at a lady nearby, who cares for four kids at her own home. We had put her name on a council waiting list and when, to our surprise, a spot came up, we decided a bit of structure to Juliana's day might be very valuable. After three weeks, we think we can notice some difference: she will play more happily on her own, see for example these videos were she plays with a wooden dolls house (33 seconds, 4Mb) or a duplo house (2 minutes, 17Mb) (both links open new windows).

Emma is currently rather keen to do her Dutch home work, which she often wants to do on Thursdays after returning from Dutch school around half six. Her teacher sent some picture of her composing words in class.

Piet's class did a dance performance and hosted the fortnightly assembly at school.

Walk on North Head
We had planned to go for a walk in the Blue Mountains, but as rain was predicted and the kids had colds and it is a long drive, we opted for an afternoon walk on North Head nearby (this was jogging distance from our old home). Juliana was a little restless in the rucksack. Once outside, she was a lot happier. She had a look at the Banksia man (flowers of the Banksia shrub) with Piet and walked by herself part of the way. We had a look at the sailing boats and ferry from a viewing point. At the next viewing point, Piet and Emma tried to behave normally for a picture.

The kids read their books together.

Easter in Bendoc
threw chat At 4am on Good Friday we drove off to Bendoc. The early departure worked well as Juliana slept a fair bit and got less bored. In Bendoc, acorn season was in full swing. We collected them with grannybunts and threw them at our parents, who were allowed, no, obliged to throw back.

We had some beautiful days. Juliana enjoyed the lawn, a chat with oma and directing opa. Juultje was easy as can be. Mum, dad and Juultje left for Sydney on Easter Monday - Juultje did not like daytime driving - with Emma and Piet staying three days longer. They were dropped off in Canberra (about halfway) on Thursday, where dad picked them up. On the way back to Sydney we had pizza in the pizzeria in Goulburn where dad and Piet had dined three months earlier.
