Homework
As part of her homework, Emma had to help prepare a meal. She cut the
ham, cracked the
eggs, sliced the
capsicum and
fried it all up for our egg fried rice. Taking the pictures as proof was part of the assignment too.
Juultje continues to play a lot by herself: in the toy basket, unpacking the cutlery basket (she does a respectable job for a toddler) and sticking blocks in the wharehouse.
On father's day, dad received numerous drawings, handwriten booklets and fried eggs in bed. Later that week, he participated in a dress-up game.
At home, mum hung some herbs in buckets as part of the backyard make-over.
The school holidays started. On Monday 5.07am mum drove off with the kids to Bendoc. Piet was sitting in front, which he is allowed to do since his seventh birthday. Emma catered to Juultje in the back. This worked really well, so all arrived safe and sound in Bendoc in early afternoon. Unfortunately, the weather was wet and cold most of week, so we spent a lot of time indoors, for example getting guitar lesson from opa. Juultje picked up some new words, including "opa". Piet drew his own Eagle Swooper fighter jet.Juliana's first snow
The only advantage of the wet and cold weather was waking up to a blanket of
(wet) snow in the morning. Juliana
came out too to
enjoy her first snow. Although she was
apprehensive at first, she
warmed up later. Luckily, we had pacthed up Piet's gum boots with a
bit of tape, so he could make his
snow balls and
enjoy the day.
Due to the cold and wet weather, Piet and Emma came home to Sydney with mum on Saturday, two days earlier than planned. They did not stop in Canberra to visit Sammie, as she had taken her family to Sydney, as usual. Fortunately, she visited us on Sunday with her husband and kids to a cuppa.
