On the last Tuesday in October it was four years since Will's birth. We gave Piet and Emma the choice whether they wanted to stay at home. Piet did, but Emma went to school. During the day we had lunch at Shelly beach and climbed some rocks - we were pleased Piet was happy to return to the place he had hit that sea urchin two days before. He baked a cake with mum, which we had after dinner. In the evening, we lit Will's candles. How different our family is without him.
Juultje had fun on a skateboard with Emma. They are good sisters to each other. Phoebe came over for a playdate and played with her old duplo she gave to Juultje.
Benji came over with his mum and dad for a long weekend. We had dinner at the quarantine station, which has a nice harbour beach. Benji played in the front garden and the house, mostly with Juultje and Emma.
During spring, we got the asbestos roof of our shed replaced. After that, we had a floor put in, so we can now use it for craft and the occasional visitor.
Sinterklaas
Sinterklaas season kicked off with putting out our
shoes with carrots for his horse. Sinterklaas brought his
big bag of presents on the night of the 5th December, so we conveniently opened them on Sunday morning. Emma and
Piet were able to read the little rhimes that traditionally come with Sinterklaas presents. We called grannybunts for her birthday.
Juliana was very interested in the iPad - once she had been moved away from the camera, Piet could
show his dinosaur. After church, we went to
Centennial park, where we had a picnic and Piet and Emma did some
racing on their bike and scooter.
