Piet was happy that his third wobbly tooth finally came out and that the tooth fairy gave him two dollars. Piet, Emma and Phoebe did an art lesson (with the very motivating teacher Piet had seen a few times before) and all came back enthusiastic. At home, they did some painting in their "art studio" ( carport and shed).
Piet played nicely with his littlest sister in the kitchen, but often he also has tremedous fun with Emma. One night, there was a lot of merriment coming from their room and out they came, having swapped their pyjamas, unable to contain their laughter.
Juultje has become harder to supervise. She has worked out she is able to climb onto chairs and rather enjoys it. She is able to stand up straight from squatting position without holding on to something and she has also started to cruise along some furniture. Her first steps cannot be far away. Until then, she seems still happy standing at a chair, crawling towards the camera and sitting in the carrier backpack for an errand with her father.
Chess
Mum taught
Piet and Emma the basic rules on how to play chess. They play
cautiously and have a hard time finishing a game. Juliana helped Emma
wiping the black board. Emma pretended to be
young again, but at 20kg, dad did not attempt to lift her in the child carrier. Piet got
sunburn after spending hours at the beach on a rare foggy day. Our intention had been to stay shorter as a hot day was expected, so we forgot to check and reapply suncream. We started putting out our shoes (instead of stockings) for Sinterklaas. Piet was disappointed he did not quite
fit into his Black Pete costume anymore, but he still wore it as he insisted he was the only true Piet.
Finally, Juliana enjoyed playing peek-a-boo.
