In the first few days of October, little happened. The kids played in a puddle on the driveway, which they had made with their watering can. They thought it was fun to drink it...

Piet and Emma tend to play nicely together (most of the time). They played and sang the wheels on the bus go round and round song inside and they ran down the driveway outside. Before bedtime, the first one out of the bath - typically Piet for this reason - gets to choose the DVD. Dad was glad we watched something other than Shaun-the-sheep one night.
Jacinta and Jordan came over to play on the driveway at the back. Piet's cold got worse. On Sunday, grannybunts came over. The kids keenly read books with her (see video) and enjoyed next day's breakfast.
P.S. Double winter/summer time switch
Note that after moving the Melbourne clock forward on the first Sunday in October, the time difference with continental Europe has increased to 9 hours. On the last Sunday in October, the European clock will move back an hour and the time difference will increase another hour to 10 hours.
