lying bath

One of the marvels of the current age is the ability to webcam with family on the other side of the world. It is so easy, that even our eldest nieces (11 and 9 years) will do it independently. Webcamming allows Emma and Piet to participate, which would be impossible with a voice-only connection.

During the weekend we had a group of Sarah's friends with their kids over for lunch. The boys and girls had fun with game consoles, bottles and even watching Tom open his presents. Piet had such a great day, he skipped his nap. Without other children, he will have fun with Emma in the bath or just cuddling up to her. In the playpen, Emma started pulling herself up to a kneeling or even standing position.

Tallangata valley
The last weekend of November, we went up to see Kelly and Glenn in Tallangata Valley in the north of central Victoria, about five hours drive from Melbourne. Leonie and John came up from Bendoc as well and as Kelly had a week off in between jobs, we spent a few relaxing days together. We only left the property for an afternoon's trip on a clear day to mount Benambra, see

Piet and Emma managed to sleep on the drive up the mountain, where Piet was grumpy at first (as always after his afternoon nap) and we all enjoyed the marvelous scenery. The vegetation in the area is still recovering from a bushfire.

being beautiful

The other highlight of the weekend were certainly the thirteen horses. We watched while aunt Kel explained to mum special horse tricks. Piet also quite enjoyed driving the tractor. The rest of the weekend was spent reading, more reading, being read (this is Piet's favourite book "Het rode kippetje". From the pictures alone grandma is able to read it to Piet) and being beautiful.
